I have always loved Rice Krispie Treats. They are sweet, crunchy, and oh so delicious. I recently got some of excellent chocolate from Divine Chocolate. I knew I could do something more with your every day Rice Krispie Treats.
I grew up first my Mother making the famous Rice Krispie Treats, and then later I made them too. These are the perfect cookies to make when you are a beginning, cook. What makes these cookies different is that I am using peanut butter powder to make the peanut flavor. By using peanut butter powder you can get all of the flavors you want, but peanut butter powder has a lot less fat in it.
These cookies are then topped with a lovely chocolate ganache. You can make a ganache quick and easy, you heat heavy cream until it boils, and then chop some chocolate and stir it into the warm cream. You must then stir and stir until it is smooth. When the chocolate is smooth, you can spread it over the peanut butter Rice Krispie Treats.
The nice folks from Divine Chocolate sent me the chocolate, and I wanted to use it in a way that I could enjoy the flavors of this chocolate. Divine chocolate is a wonderful chocolate that is a Fair Trade chocolate. This chocolate ensures that the farmers are paid equitably. Divine chocolate tastes amazing. They make several different types of chocolate and cocoa which are perfect for your baking needs.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats
You won't be able to resist these treats!
- 10 ounces Marshmallows
- 8 tablespoons butter
- 6 cups of Rice Krispies
- 3 tablespoons peanut powder
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces chopped chocolate
- In a medium-sized saucepan over medium-low heat, add marshmallows, peanut powder, and butter. Stir until melted and well-blended. Add cereal and stir until well coated. Using buttered spatula or waxed paper, press mixture evenly and firmly in buttered 13 x 9-inch pan. Allow the treats to cool to room temperature before adding the chocolate. Make ganache by heating 1/2 cup of heavy cream in a small saucepan until it boils. Turn off the heat and add chopped chocolate. Stir until the mixture is smooth and uniform. Spread over the cookies. Cut when the chocolate sets. You may want to store these in the refrigerator.
