Twinkies are back. Now what are you going to do? I am going to turn mine into strawberry shortcake. Yes, these sponge cake treats are back. They are in stores. I heard on the news they were coming back, and guess what? Sunday when I was in the grocery store their they stood.
I never thought I would miss the treat that I loved when I was a kid. I remember calling my Mom to ask her to buy some Twinkies when Hostess went out of business. She did, and I had Hostess treats for a while. Then those snack cakes were gone too.
I have some friends coming over tonight, and this is what I am serving for dinner. Organic strawberries, homemade whipped cream, piled over Twinkies.

I used to make these with Twinkies and that was one of the reasons I went into mourning when Hostess went under (that and the fact that our local bread thrift store was owned by Hostess and closed). Now I will have to make them again!

I know, we don’t have the variety that we had once before. I loved their orange cupcakes tremendously.
