Ingredients

potatoes
washed and peeled
▢

tablespoons
butter or bacon grease
▢
½
cup
white onion
chopped into large cubes
▢
½
teaspoon
salt
▢

teaspoon
ground black pepper
Instructions
Cut the potatoes into ¼ inch slices.
Rinse potatoes in a colander. Shake off the excess water.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Layer the potatoes into the skillet.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Cook covered over medium heat for about 8 minutes.
Add onions and cook uncovered for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping over once or twice so the potatoes brown evenly.
Cook until the potatoes are tender and browned.
