Instructions
For the Brownie Mix
Place the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cocoa powder in a bowl. Whisk to thoroughly combine.
Add the shortening and cut it in with a fork or pastry blender until it has the consistency of cornmeal.
To Make Brownies with the Mix
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a square 8-inch pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine 3 cups of brownie mix, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, 3 eggs, and nuts.
Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
