Ingredients

semi-sweet chocolate morsels

milk

slightly beaten

cherry pie filling

finely chopped nuts
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and butter.
Cut with a pastry blender until the crumbs are the size of small peas.
Over hot (not boiling) water, melt the chocolate morsels.
Allow the chocolate to cool for 5 minutes at room temperature.
Add milk and egg to the chocolate and mix well.
Add the chocolate mixture to the flour mixture and mix well.
Spread the pie filling in the bottom of a 2-quart casserole dish.
Drop chocolate batter randomly over cherries.
Sprinkle nuts on top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
Recipe Tips
Almonds go really well with cherries but you can use any type of nuts you want.
If you prefer dark chocolate, you can use extra-dark or dark semi-sweet morsels (70% cacao) if you don't want to the semi-sweet morsels.
This dessert is best served with vanilla ice cream but you can also add whipped cream or pour cream on top.
