Pimento Cheese Spread
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 pound pasteurized process American cheese
- 1 (4-ounce) jar pimentos
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine first 6 ingredients in a small saucepan; cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat; pour over cheese and mash to blend ingredients. Add pimentos, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper; mix well. Store in refrigerator.
