CopyKat.com is the creation of Stephanie Manley. Stephanie started publishing recipes on the web in 1995 as a means to capture her family recipes in a format that they would not be thrown away.
Over the years she has developed many recipes that
taste just like restaurant recipes.
You are welcomed to request a recipe if you like. Please let me know where the restaurant is located. Also, recreating recipes that are from places that are out of business, or food that is no longer being served is quite honestly difficult if not impossible.
Wontons are wonderful, you can fill wontons with all sorts of things, taco meat, pork, sweet fillings, and so much more. I present to you Nutella Wontons. Nutella is a wonderful chocolatey spread that features hazelnuts as one of the primary flavors. I love Nutella on toast in the morning, but why should we stop there? You can make these wontons at home, and present a dessert to your friends and family that they may have not seen before.
Applebee’s Grilled Chicken Oriental Salad has to be one of my most requested recipes. Honestly I can’t think of a recipe that has been more requested than the Applebee’s Grilled Chicken Oriental Salad. Applebee’s has been serving the Grilled Chicken Oriental Salad for years now, and this is a restaurant that is known for swapping out their menu on a fairly regular basis. What makes this salad so special? Crisp rice noodles, toasted almonds, fresh lettuce are served with an oriental dressing.
Salad Caprese is a wonderful salad that is served in many Italian restaurants, and many other restaurants as well. Salad Caprese is a wonderfully simple salad that you can make at home. I love to make my Salad Caprese during the summer. I always have a container garden of fresh basil, and sometimes I grow a tomato plant or two so Salad Caprese often becomes a dinner meal for me. If you have never had salad Caprese the basic ingredients are mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and fresh ripe tomatoes.
I have to admit that the Applebee’s Oriental Salad Dressing had me stumped, and stumped for a long time. I love the sweet almost smoky flavor of the Applebee’s Oriental Salad Dressing, I haven’t been able to go into that restaurant and not order extra salad dressing each time I went. So began the experimenting on the Applebee’s Oriental Salad Dressing. This salad dressing is a variation on vinaigrette; vinaigrettes are made with vinegar, oil, seasonings, and Dijon mustard. Since this dressing was creamy, adding mayonnaise gives this dressing creaminess. Now for the oil, we are using regular sesame oil, and a toasted sesame oil. Using all sesame toasted oil over powers the salad dressing, so you just want to use a touch of the dressing for an enhanced flavor.
An Arizona TV station compares CopyKat recipes with the restaurant recipes, who wins? CopyKat recipes are preferred over the restaurant originals. You can see that cooking at home is the way to go.
There are few things that I enjoy more than Monterey’s Tex Mex Queso, I don’t think you anyone should go into a Tex Mex restaurant and pass on the queso, Monterey’s Tex Mex Queso is a wonderfully mild queso that is tasty with tortilla chips, or even spread on a crisp corn tortilla as a side dish. I had forever been stumped on finding the right cheese to make the queso that is familar in so many Tex Mex restaurants. In this recipe for Monterey’s Tex Mex Queso, we use American Cheese, not Cheddar, not Monterey Jack, but the good melting American cheese. I bought this cheese in the deli at my local grocery store. In using American cheese you get a cheese that melts quickly, and can be reheated easily.

To me, summer spells out salad. Favorite Thing Salad is a recipe I adapted from a recipe mailing list I have been on. Favorite Things Salad is a delicious salad that can be made ahead of time, and served later. This hearly salad has flavors of the southwest, and Italian influences. You could adapt this salad for what you have in your refrigerator.
