Ingredients

  • 1 pound margarine
  • 3/4 pound  sharp Cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/4 pound Romano Cheese shredded
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together until fluffy, using electric mixer on low speed. Spread on sourdough French bread and toast under broiler. Note: The spread keeps for months if stored in the refrigerator in airtight container (if it lasts that long).

    We have been making this exact recipe for years. My mother-in-law got the recipe from The Pantry restaurant in Portland, Oregon before they closed some years ago. She used to give each of us a jar at Christmas and we really looked forward to it.

    This went wonderfully with my lasagna. I wasn’t sure about the Worcestershire sauce but it turned out really good!
