Better Than Sex Cake – Caramel and Chocolate Version

Years ago, Better Than Sex Cakes were all the rage. Many different versions are around. This version features a chocolate cake that you bake from a boxed mix. You then poke holes into the cake and then pour caramel topping onto the cake. When you are finished with the caramel, you then top the cake with whipped topping and shave a couple of Hershey candy bars over the top of it all.

This is a sweet cake that is very tasty. You will need to store this cake in the refrigerator should you not finish it when you first serve this cake.

This Better than sex cake features a chocolate cake topped with caramel topping, whipped cream, and Hershey bar chocolate shavings.

Ingredients

  • 15.25 ounces German Chocolate Cake Mix Make according to package direcitons
  • 12.25 ounces caramel syrup
  • 8 ounce Cool Whip
  • 3 ounces Hershey bar

Instructions

  • Prepare the cake mix as directed and pour into a greased 9x13 cake pan and bake. Remove the cake from the oven and use a straw to make several holes in the cake. Pour the entire jar of Carmel over the cake and spread evenly. Refrigerate the cake for about an hour or until completely cooled. Spread all of the Cool Whip on top of the cake and garnish with Hershey Bar shavings.

    I have used sweetened condensed milk instead of the caramel sauce, and it’s very yummy. You can use crushed Heath bar crumbles on top of the cake.
