What Makes Panera Fuji Apple Salad Dressing So Good?
This salad dressing will surprise you with its well-balanced fruity flavor. Who would have thought that such a tiny amount of juice could have such an enormous impact on the taste? But it does.
The juice imparts a complex sweetness that pairs extraordinarily well with the tart white balsamic vinegar and other ingredients turning the dressing into something uniquely tasty. Once you try apple vinaigrette, you won’t want to return to the bottled stuff!
Why You Should Try This Recipe
This is one of those recipes you’ll probably want to commit to memory because you’ll be making it so often. Fuji Apple Salad Dressing takes just a few minutes, and most of the ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.
That’s convenient because apple vinaigrette tastes best when it’s fresh. Use it to dress your favorite salad, or check out the “What Can I Do with Apple Juice Salad Dressing?” section below for more suggestions.
Panera White Balsamic Apple Vinaigrette Ingredients
For this dressing, you’ll need:
- Extra virgin olive oil
- White balsamic vinegar
- Honey
- Fuji apple juice
- Sea salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
Fuji apple juice has citrus and pear flavors that bring a lot of complexity to this recipe. However, it can be challenging to find in many supermarkets. If you can’t get Fuji apple juice, go ahead and make this apple vinaigrette with quality juice made from another apple variety.
How to Make Apple Juice Salad Dressing
To whip up this apple vinaigrette:
- Add all the ingredients except the extra virgin olive oil to a blender jar or the bowl of a food processor.
- With the machine running on the lowest setting, slowly add the oil in a steady stream.
- Continue processing until the oil fully incorporates with the other ingredients.
- Serve immediately to prevent the dressing from separating.
Note: You can still make this recipe if you don’t have a blender or food processor. All you need is a jar with a lid. Add all the ingredients to a jar, screw on the top, and shake. Making vinaigrette using this method won’t produce a dressing as thick and rich as the method above, but it will still be delicious.
What Can I Do with Apple Juice Salad Dressing?
Panera Bread serves this dressing on its popular Fuji Apple Salad with Chicken, but that’s just one opinion. You can use apple vinaigrette on just about any salad where you want an extra touch of sweetness. It is a wonderful way to tame bitter greens or to bring out the sharp, pungent taste of blue cheese or feta crumbles.
But this dressing is good for more than just salads. Toss it with roasted vegetables like potatoes, onions, brussels sprouts, and radishes. Apple vinaigrette makes a good marinade for chicken or pork. You may also want to try tossing the dressing with noodles as a base for a pasta salad.
How to Store Apple Vinaigrette
Put any leftover salad dressing in an airtight container in the fridge.
How Long Does this Dressing Last
Although fresh white balsamic apple vinaigrette is better, you can refrigerate any extra for up to a week. It will separate overnight, but all you need to do is to shake the dressing well before serving.

If you cannot find Fuji apple juice, do not fret. If you find a Fuji apple, just pare it and put it roughly chopped into the food processor. You will add more fiber to your dressing and get the intact Fuji flavor.
