Wendy’s Frosty is one of the most iconic menu items at Wendy’s. Right next to their square hamburger patties and their chili, this cool refreshing treat is hard to beat.
Cool down this a copycat Wendy’s frosty!
When I think of one iconic treat that I have enjoyed my entire life, do you know what I pick? It’s cool and chocolatey and perfect eaten with a spoon or straw. It’s Wendy’s frosty, of course! I can remember enjoying a frosty from a very young age and I still love grabbing one every now and again. It’s a fun treat that instantly cools me down and satisfies my sweet tooth.
The frosty was first introduced at the fast-food chain in 1969 by founder Dave Thomas. The original chocolate frosty is actually a combination of chocolate and vanilla. It gives the frosty a more mellow chocolate flavor without being overwhelming. The franchise does offer a vanilla variety of the original as well.
You don’t have to run to your closest Wendy’s when you get a craving for one of these chocolatey treats. You can make a copycat frosty at home with only 3 ingredients! Yup, only 3 ingredients. And the best part? It tastes just like the original! Grab your blender and whip up one of these frosties at home. Just be sure to make a batch of french fries to go along with your frosty. (Because who doesn’t dip their fries in their frosty?!)
Tips for making your own copycat Wendy’s frosty at home
The key to this copycat version is the frozen chocolate milk. You are going to want to freeze some chocolate milk in ice cube trays to start. This helps give the frost the creamy texture without watering it down.
You also want to use frozen whipped cream as well. This will ensure the right consistency for your frosty treat. I love using Cool Whip for this copycat.
Last tip – you may need to scrape down the sides of your blender to make sure it all mixes well.
