Why This Recipe Works

This pina colada smoothie perfectly balances tropical flavors and creamy texture without relying on pre-made ice cream mixes. Using frozen pineapple eliminates the need for additional sweeteners, as the fruit provides natural sweetness at its peak ripeness. The combination of cream of coconut and full-fat yogurt creates a luxurious mouthfeel similar to the traditional cocktail but with added nutritional benefits from the yogurt’s protein and probiotics. Ice provides the essential frosty texture while diluting the richness just enough to make it refreshing rather than heavy.

Ingredients for the best pina colada smoothie

This recipe uses just four simple ingredients. These four ingredients make a delicious, healthy pina colada smoothie. You will need:

  • Frozen pineapple – Provides sweet tropical flavor and frozen texture without diluting the smoothie
  • Cream of coconut – Delivers authentic coconut flavor and creamy richness
  • Yogurt – Adds creaminess, tanginess, and protein for a more satisfying drink
  • Ice – Creates the perfect frosty smoothie texture

Blending the Smoothie:

  1. Add the frozen pineapple, cream of coconut, yogurt, and ice to your blender.
  2. Secure the blender lid tightly.
  3. Blend on high speed for about 45-60 seconds or until the mixture is completely smooth and no ice chunks remain.

Hi! I love anything pineapple or coconut so I had to try this. First I tried it with vanilla yogurt but I felt the pineapple an coconut flavors were muted So I did it again with plain yogurt and it was delicious 😋
