Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)

Instructions

  • Stir up in a bowl, roll into 1 inch balls. Place cookie balls on an ungreased cookie sheet and smash like a # sign with a fork. Cook in 350 degree oven until lightly golden about 8 to 10 minutes. Cool and enjoy! You can cook these until just done for softer cookies-or longer for crunchy ones. You can double or triple amounts to make more cookies-there's just no messing this up! Great for quick cookies-class parties. Thanks to jenheinee for sending in this cookie recipe.

This is the recipe I have been using for years but I also add 1 tsp. vanilla. After these are baked, you can’t tell the difference in these and the pb cookies that have all the other ingredients. This is so easy that my grandson loves to help make them. I have also used these and without making the # mark, when they are done I press a hershey kiss in the center. Can’t ask for a better or easier pb cookie recipe.

    Disappointed! Very grainy and bleh!
Some people like this recipe, and have ok luck with it, personally I would make a different peanut butter cookie recipe instead, but this recipe may be more appropriate for children that are cooking or something like that. I am sorry you didn’t find this recipe for peanut butter cookies to be to your liking! ~Stephanie

This is my extended family’s favorite cookie with this addition:
Instead of making the # with a fork, bake the cookies in 1" balls until golden (~8 minutes) then while still on cookie sheet, press an unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss into the center. Cool then transfer to plates and refrigerate until Kiss is hard.

These were great for a quick snack, but I did change something. I used a small amount of oatmeal and a few random spices.

Just tried this recipe. Very easy to do and takes almost no effort. On the other hand, the cookies aren’t that great. They’re very crumbly and mediocre. If you want a quick fix of peanut butter cookies, this recipe is spot on. If you want a really good peanut butter cookie, keep looking.
