Houston’s is a wonderful restaurant. If you have never been there everything is made fresh, and it’s made there fresh every day. It is the kind of restaurant you go to when you want to have a really nice meal.
It’s not the restaurant you go to when you want to have a quick meal. It is a place of celebrations and when you want to treat someone.
Their salad dressing is heavenly. Houston’s Buttermilk Garlic Salad Dressing tastes amazing. There is a touch of spice to it and, of course, just the right amount of garlic.
I know that when you try this salad dressing you aren’t going to buy a bottle of salad dressing again.

Why make buttermilk garlic salad dressing at home?
There is a huge benefit of making salad dressing at home. The first benefit is that homemade salad dressing tastes better than salad dressing out of a bottle.
It also contains less sodium and preservatives. If you need a salad dressing to be gluten-free, you can make it that way too.

Hello… I am a lover of Houstons as well! I’m from Scottsdale and I worked there. I ate the Pine Room Salad (shared it) every time i was there. I am not sure if you are attempting the original Pine Room Salad or if there is a new re-make of it. But You are pretty close on your recipe for the original Salad by using the garlic buttermilk dressing; unfortunately, you are off on a few ingredients and missing the biggest one. But you do a great job! Kudo’s!

Thank you for your feedback.

Made this. Absolutely delicious. Only change I made was to use nonfat plain greek yogurt.
Ann
Way too much sugar. Still missing. Will try to make with the Worstershire sauce.

How Long Does this Dressing last in the fridge?
Stephanie Manley
I would keep this for about a week in the fridge.

The printed recipe shows sugar as an ingredient, however, your video did not reflect the same. Which is accurate? Thanks!
Stephanie
Please use the written recipe.

I have heard so many suggestions on this recipe but I am not sure if there is an update on the Houston salad dressing.

Is mustard powder the same as dry mustard? I would guess so but would like to make sure. I live in Virginia and have never heard or been to Houstons.
Stephanie
Yes, mustard powder is the same as mustard powder.
